CASTILE LEON

Castile and Léon consists of nine provinces and forms the heartland of Spain, because from here the Reconquista, the unification of Spain was operated largely under Christian rule in the Middle Ages. The Duero River influenced the climatic conditions of the DO Cigales zones, Ribera del Duero, Rueda and Toro. The latest D.O. Bierzo is geographically separated from the other regions and leans stylistically more like wines from Galicia.
