Although in the family Storz since 1767 - most likely even früher- vineyards were farmed, was the real founder of the winery in the 30s Hermann Storz. The grandfather of the brothers Reiner and Lothar Storz, who own the winery today, was already a maverick and absolute quality fanatic. He was the first Wengerter in place that does not openly gave his wine to the wine wholesaler from the consumer areas, but let him mature in wooden casks and then filled in the bottle. His favorite wines were the fiery Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris massive, two top wines, which he expanded already consistently dry at that time. In the sixties, the winery was (then about 2 ha) taken over by his son Reinhold Storz and his wife Mina and enlarged by purposeful acquisitions and tireless work by many times. That was the foundation for today's operation, the further developed for private winery with its own vineyards currently grapes from around 86 ha yield surface expands into wine and exclusively offers producers bottlings. About 70% red varieties are grown, which corresponds to the currently strong demand for these varieties, which in addition to the classics Trollinger and Lemberger also new varieties like Cabernet Dorsa, Merlot Acolon and enrich the offer.
