Vicente Stagnari was born in Loreto (Central Province of Ancona, Italy). Being an enthusiast Garibaldi´s activist he started planting his first vines in 1880 and then elaborated an exquisite wine
for his personal benefit and sale. In his winery he used to manipulate secret winemaking compounds that he later transmitted to his son Pablo Stagnari Casali, who set off to Uruguay in 1898 from
the port of Genova crossing the Atlantic Oceanwhen he was very young.
He began to work with Aicardi's family in the outskirts of La Paz city, Canelones. There he fell in love with one of Aicardi`s daughters, Adela. In 1910 he planted his first vines in honor of his grandfather Vicente on a farm located in Melilla.Little by little, the grape growing business led him to produce up to 110.000 litres per year, activity that was made with love and passion, later inherited by his descendants.
Stagnari Moise´s family commitments with wine industry is innovation and respect for the natural patrimony of the country. Considering this as a tribute to decades of wise winemakers that still preserve their secrets in winemaking.
